On 8 October 2005, a 7.6-magnitude earthquake struck Azad Kashmir, killing over 86,000 people and leaving more than 3.5 million homeless. Pattika was at the epicentre.
Tayyib Foundation was established in 2006 in direct response. Our volunteers immediately deployed to the region, delivering emergency food, medicine and water.
As emergency relief gave way to long-term recovery, we built a school — which now serves approximately 200 students every year — rebuilt masajid, restored water supplies, and provided shelter. We have never stopped.

Tayyib Foundation is a registered, non-government, non-profit charitable organisation established in 2006 in the aftermath of the devastating earthquake that struck Muzaffarabad, Azad Kashmir. What began as an emergency relief effort — distributing food, medicine, and clean water to families who had lost everything — has grown into a multi-project humanitarian organisation that touches thousands of lives every year.
We operate from the heart of Pattika, just 16km from Muzaffarabad — the very epicentre of the 2005 earthquake. Our grassroots presence ensures that your donations reach those who need them most, with minimal overhead and maximum impact.
Our school currently serves approximately 200 students from the surrounding area, and our projects span food, water, shelter, healthcare, education, and spiritual welfare — because we believe that true relief addresses the whole person.

Tayyib Foundation is governed by a committed board of trustees based in Nottingham, UK. We maintain full compliance with the Charity Commission for England and Wales (Charity No. 1140835) and publish annual accounts in accordance with UK charity law.
