Earthquake-resilient permanent homes for widows, orphans and disabled families still living in damaged or temporary structures, two decades after the disaster.
— Quran 16:80
After the 2005 earthquake, hundreds of thousands of families were left without shelter in one of the most geographically harsh regions on earth. Winter in Azad Kashmir is brutal — temperatures drop far below freezing, and without adequate housing, survival itself is at risk. Almost two decades on, many families are still living in inadequate, damaged, or temporary structures.
Tayyib Foundation has been working tirelessly to rebuild homes for the most vulnerable: widows with young children, elderly people with no family support, and disabled individuals who cannot rebuild for themselves. A safe, warm home restores not just physical security, but dignity, stability, and hope.
The Quran describes the home as a place of rest and sanctuary — a gift from Allah ﷻ. To give someone that gift, when they have been deprived of it through no fault of their own, is an act of profound generosity. The family that moves into a home you funded will pray for you — and those prayers are heard.
