We pipe clean spring water into village storage tanks so women and children no longer trek miles to contaminated streams. One tank can serve hundreds of families for decades.
— Quran 21:30
Clean, safe drinking water is something most of us in the UK take entirely for granted. We turn on a tap and water flows. For communities in Pattika and the remote villages of Azad Kashmir, the reality is vastly different. Before Tayyib Foundation’s water projects, families — especially women and children — would walk miles to collect water from streams that were often contaminated, unreliable, and unsafe.
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ identified providing water as one of the greatest acts of charity, saying: ‘The best Sadaqah is giving water to drink.’ (Ibn Majah). When you donate to our Water Project, you are fulfilling a Sunnah and a Sadaqah Jariyah — a continuing charity whose reward never ceases.
Tayyib Foundation has constructed water storage tanks in multiple villages, sized according to the population of each community. Clean water is pumped from nearby natural springs into these tanks and then piped to households. The system is designed for durability, requiring minimal maintenance and providing years of reliable supply.
We have already successfully provided clean water to many families and villages across the region. However, neighbouring villages have approached us and requested the same infrastructure — and we are committed to helping them. More funds are urgently needed to continue this work.
Piped clean water reaching hundreds of families.
No more dangerous treks to contaminated streams.
Waterborne disease rates significantly down.
Ongoing reward for every sip taken — for decades.
