Helping widows and women from extremely poor backgrounds marry with dignity. We fulfil a Sunnah the Quran itself commands us to facilitate.
— Quran 24:32
Marriage in Islam is described as completing half of one’s deen. It is a source of peace, companionship, and mercy. Yet for widows, orphaned young women, and families destroyed by poverty and disaster, the costs associated with marriage — dowry, celebrations, household setup — can make this Sunnah utterly out of reach.
Tayyib Foundation’s Marriage Project supports vulnerable women — particularly widows and those from extremely poor backgrounds — by providing financial assistance to enable them to marry with dignity. This programme follows directly from the Quranic instruction above, and the Prophet’s ﷺ great emphasis on facilitating marriage.
A donation to our Marriage Project does not just fund a ceremony — it gives a woman a new beginning. It provides companionship and security. It enables a widow to rebuild her life. It allows a young woman who thought marriage was beyond her means to start a family with honour. The ripple effects of this one act of generosity extend across generations.
Helping women rebuild after loss.
Modest, Sunnah-compliant ceremonies.
Help with essentials to set up a home.
The ripple of one act of kindness.
